Yeowarra Hill wines are produced from fruit grown solely from the Yeowarra Hill family-owned vineyard.
From vines planted in 1988, Yeowarra Hill began handpicking its first commercial crop in 2006 after meticulous pruning led to excellent fruit in low yields.
At Yeowarra Hill Winery our aim is not to produce wines in great quantities, instead we aim to nurture our vines to produce quality fruit in small quantities so we can make wine that reflects the elegant complexities and varietal characteristics of the cool climate of the region.
Our Colac vineyard has plantings of Chardonnay (1.5acres) and Pinot Noir (2.5acres). The care and attention to the vineyard of our winemaker produced immediate results with our first vintage (2006) Chardonnay, being awarded a medal at the 2007 Geelong Wine Show. Yeowarra Hill Pinot Noir has also seen success at more recent Wine shows.
The James Halliday Australian Wine Companion has also ‘highly recommended’ both the Yeowarra Hill Chardonnay and Pinot Noir declaring that the wines have great quality style and character, worthy of a place in any cellar.
Yeowarra Hill wines are predominatly sold through our function centre with vintages of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Vintage Cuvee available.
Current vintages are being made by Otway Harvest Trail expert winemaker James Thomas of Heroes Vineyard .
Our limited release wines are also served during wedding receptions and in our function centre, which is a beautifully elegant wedding and function venue.
