Colac Catering, Party Hire and Function Venue
Q. Do you provide catering for smaller functions, as well as large functions?
A. Yeowarra Hill provides catering for functions with 30 to 200 guests at our Colac wedding venue and function centre at Yeowarra Hill. Our main Colac function centre can cater for up to 40 people for a stand up function with larger functions catered for by annexing our function room with a fully attached and enclosed marquee.
Q. Do you have set menus or prices for the Colac weddings, corporate events or parties that you cater for?
A. Yeowarra Hill can provide a quote on your own specific requirements or menus.
Q. I need catering for an off-site function. What is the maximum number of people you can cater for?
A. Yeowarra Hill can provide catering at other venues for up to 350 people, depending on the size of the venue.
Q. Do you have set menus for your wedding reception venue and function room, and for the party catering that you provide?
A. Yeowarra Hill can provide you with a prepared menu that is indicative of the quality of catering that we offer, however it is important to note that our menus may change due to seasonal availability of produce.
Q. For wedding receptions and functions at Yeowarra Hill, who decorates the function room?
A. Yeowarra Hill provides all tablecloths for functions and weddings held at our Colac function venue, however the decorations are minimal and you are welcome to add table centres, etc.
Q. Does Yeowarra Hill provide beverages at its Colac wedding reception venue and function room?
A. Yes, we can arrange your beverages in a way which will best suit your needs. We can tailor your package to an all inclusive price, or beverages can be charged on a consumption basis (preferred). We can discuss which beverages you would like to have served and any restrictions to the type of beverages or TAB limits, as well as ‘pay as you go’.
Q. Does Yeowarra Hill allow BYO alcohol?
A. The Yeowarra Hill function room is a fully licensed restaurant and does not allow BYO.
Q. Yeowarra Hill is our preferred caterer for an event at an outside venue – whose responsibility is it to set the tables?
A. If we are catering an outside event, Yeowarra Hill retains responsibility for the setting of the tables (eg cutlery, crockery etc). If the venue you have chosen is fully licensed, the provision and setting of glassware will generally be done by bar staff. These arrangements will be assessed on an individual basis.
Q. If Yeowarra Hill is providing corporate catering for our event at an outside venue – who provides the tablecloths and napkins?
A. For catering purposes tablecloths and napkins are your responsibility (this may be negotiated), as are floral arrangements, table decorations etc.
Q. We would like to have a band or DJ entertain at our Colac wedding reception, is this allowed at Yeowarra Hill?
A. If you choose to have a band or entertainment for your function at Yeowarra Hill, they will need to contact us to arrange a set up time. If they are playing in our Colac function room, you will also need to let us know if they require a main meal and soft drink.
Q. In regard to Colac function room hire at Yeowarra Hill, what is the duration of events?
A. An afternoon lunch function should conclude no later than 5pm (negotiable – dependant on starting time) and evening functions should conclude at 11.00pm. Due to restrictions with Liquor Licensing Laws extensions of function times are available however a license extension must be applied for at an additional cost of $300 (plus staffing costs). Standard function room times are: Lunchtime – 4 hours; Evening – 5 hours (6pm-11pm).
Q. Does Yeowarra Hill charge a venue hire fee for use of its Colac function room?
A. Generally there is no venue hire charge, except in certain circumstances such as weddings and 21st parties. If a venue hire is applicable, you will be notified at the time of booking. Christmas bookings (from mid-November) for a Friday or Saturday night require a non- refundable $200 deposit to be paid within two days of acceptance, or booking is not guaranteed.
Q. What is the process for booking catering or a function at Yeowarra Hill?
A. Tentative function bookings will be held for seven days. On confirmation of booking a deposit may be required, this will be deducted from your final account. Numbers should be confirmed a minimum of seven days prior to the event. Menus and arrangements will also be finalised at this stage. Final Payment is to be made at the conclusion of the function.
Q. What sort of events do you provide catering for?
A. Yeowarra Hill can provide onsite and offsite event catering for finger food, corporate catering, office catering, funeral catering and catering for weddings.
